Back To Basics | Foundation | #BethsBeautyBible | No3
Finding the right foundation for your skin is one of the biggest beauty challenges in a persons life. Drawers and cabinets become seriously cluttered with many trialed and failed foundations. Personally I HATE throwing out foundations, because one day, I may learn to love them and save myself a few pennies here and there. The correct foundation for you should only take moments to apply and you should be happy with the result, however, this foundation may take, what seems like forever, to track down. So here are some hints and tips on finding your perfect match.

Be sure to use the correct moisturiser for your skin type. If the moisturiser is deliver too much or too little moisture, your make up will dissapear quicker, therefore it will need amending more.
BEWARE OF
Alcohol based toners destroy the skin, this then causes the skin to double it's oil producing efforts to make up for the oil that you are stripping. Be sure to check your ingredients.

- Always take a compact mirror with you, so you are able to walk into natural light to check the colouring. Yes you may look crazy for a while. Accept it.
- Be sure to take note of your orrigional colour, which you think is your perfect match, this way you can find the closest shade.
- Do NOT wear any foundatioin or powder when you are foundation shopping.
- Do NOT think for one moment that you would like to "perk up" your skin by changing the colour. Let's face it people, who wants to walk round looking like an umpa lumpa?!
- If you do not want to try the foundation on your face then the next best place to swatch is on the inside of your forearm. NOT the back of your hand.
- Always test the coverage over a blue wein by your wrist.
- Find the right finish! There are tons of different finishes of foundation out there, so make sure that you chose the finish you want.
- Match the foundation to your skintype. Be sure you know what skin type you have before looking for foundation. (If you have oily skin, get an "oil free" foundation)

Great advice! It can be so hard to find the perfect foundation especially when you've been using the same thing for years and are just looking for a change.
